Lucas Fox expands overseas with offices in Portugal and France

Lucas Fox, a real estate firm specializing in the luxury residential market, is pursuing expansion plans.

The company, Savills' exclusive partner in the Spanish luxury residential sector, has announced the opening of two new offices in Spain this year, specifically in San Sebastian and Estepona, and two more in Porto and Montpellier, where the company has begun its internationalization. 

With the opening of the company's first office in San Sebastian in April, reaching the Basque Country is a very important step for the brand and a strategic point in its expansion plans. Michael DiCarpio, Partner and Expansion Director of Lucas Fox International Properties explains that "Northern Spain has very favorable characteristics for the luxury housing market and is an area with great potential and many opportunities for development. As such, the new office will allow us to absorb a growing market and will reflect our expansion into northern Spain, where we expect to continue to grow in the second half of 2023 with more offices in the Basque Country and then Galicia".

The real estate company also plans to open its first office in Estepona in June. "This opening covers the need we have found to service the region that stretches from Estepona to almost Puerto de Santa María. Although we have branches in Malaga and Marbella, we see that the area has a very high growth potential, thanks in part to the increase in foreigners, demand or the choice of digital nomads to settle on the Costa del Sol. With our office in Estepona we fully cover the Costa del Sol and offer a complete and comprehensive service in the region to all our current and potential clients," explains DiCarpio.

At the same time, Lucas Fox will expand beyond the borders of Spain with the official opening of its first office in Porto, Portugal, scheduled for May, and the next office in Montpellier, France. 

Focus on wineries in France

In 2020, just before the pandemic, Lukas Fox founded a wine real estate advisory service, which includes advice on buying and selling vineyards, wineries, wine presses and cellars, among other services.

Now, he is taking another strategic step and expanding his presence by establishing an agency in Montpellier, France, a region known for its high quality wines. This expansion will allow the agency to provide its clients with an exclusive selection of properties in the area.

Offering a wide range of wine real estate advisory services and exclusive real estate portfolios in iconic wine regions, Lucas Fox aims to become one of the leaders in the real estate sector. 

Momentum in the luxury market and interest from domestic and foreign clients in high-end Spanish properties will help the real estate company continue its expansion in 2023, according to a company statement. Lucas Fox closed 2022 with a 29 per cent year-on-year growth and a turnover of 32.6 million euros.
